There’s no such thing as useless technology

To say I’m busy is a bit of an understatement, hence the lack of updating in the last few weeks. We’re finishing the re-wiring of one studio at KCSB so we can begin the rewiring of another studio. Of course, our 20+ year old STL transmitter (which connects us to our main transmitter at Broadcast Peak) decided to get all “flaky with it”, so everything was delayed a bit. Needless to say, technology has NOT been my friend lately. The one exception is the new cellphone I received for re-signing with my current provider. I’m a huge fan of useless technology. If it has a lot of bells and whistles but serves no meaningful purpose, then I’m all for it. This new cellphone epitomizes useless technology.

I’m mostly enamoured with the built-in camera, which allows me to take pictures of completely unnecessary things - like photos of “My Knee” and “The Blurry Cup That Holds Random Stuff On My Desk“. And with the power of Bluetooth, I can transfer photos to my computer. Of course, my new phone won’t sync1 with useful items like my address book, or my calendar. But if I take a photo of “My Ceiling at Work“, then rest assured, I can share it with all of you.
