So no sooner than the day after I made public my fondness for right-wing insanity, another lovable character showed up on campus with a sign of biblical quotes - John 3:16, Bob 9:23, Ballpark Frank 24:7 (like I have any clue). He arrived just in time for Queer Pride Week, and just in time for the Queer Student Union’s presentation in the plaza. To their credit, they dealt with him perfectly, and the event went well.

My favorite quote by Mr. Lovable Homophobe was, “..students should drop out of college to study the Bible…” I think after hearing that, a number of students decided to double major. I’m still trying to imagine how that conversation with my parents would have gone, “Mom. Dad. I’m dropping out of college to go around to other campuses to yell gibberish at people and carry a sign that says, ‘God hates sodomites’. Can I have some money?”

And speaking of Queer Pride Week…. HEL-LO!!
