Ultimate Idiot

Not much going on this week. But I’ve heard rumors of a Behemoth Experience reunion. Could it happen?

I’ve been listening to The Futureheads‘ debut album pretty exclusively for the last couple of days. Easily, one of the best albums I’ve heard in quite a while - especially for a debut album. If you are into post-punk, then I highly recommend it.

The internet, or at least the corner that I visit, is buzzing over the Pro Wrestler Formally Known As Ultimate Warrior Who Is Now Legally Known As Warrior and the racist and homophobic remarks he made during a speech at the University of Connecticut. So “out there” was his speech, in fact, that the College Republicans that brought him to the campus issued an apology for his remarks. These are the folks who book nutbars like Ann Coulter, Ollie North, and Ward Connerly on college campuses for the sole purpose of offending people. How far over the line do you have to go for the College Republicans to apologize for booking you? (Video available here. )

The DemocraticUnderground has Warrior in their “Top Ten Conservative Idiots” list because of the debacle - right there at number ten, with a pretty hysterical description of the incident and aftermath. To be fair, it’s difficult to NOT write a hysterical description of anything involving someone legally named “Warrior”, so don’t give them too much credit.

While I’m sure the video of the incident is interesting, I doubt it is as interesting as the recent correspondence between the webmaster over at Something Awful and Warrior’s Director of Communications. I leave it to you to determine what’s more surprising: the bizarre correspondence, or the fact that the Ultimate Warrior has a Director of Communications.
